"The songwriting process is strange. Normally, when we play together we don't play songs – we make music – and every time we play is a new time. When we had the possibility to record, we have made songs for the album. It started with the song 'Goatman', and that song was recorded just for us. Then Rocket [Recordings] asked us to write some more and we continued. Our songs are never really finished and we never know how they will end up when we start recording."

Damnation este un album de cotitura in stilul grupului suedez Opeth. Pentru prima data chitarile sa aud limpede si fara efecte, la fel si partiturile vocale, iar fondul dominant e asigurat de clape si mellotron.... cu totul neobisnuit pentru o trupa death metal. In ciuda schimbarilor radicale LP-ul a insemnat o importanta crestere a notorietatii Opeth si stilului acestuia devenit dincolo de Damnation "progressive death metal"; pe de alta parte discul avea sa prilejuiasca chiar editarea DVD-ului Lamentations in 2003.

Un grup american cu puternice influente "Yes"

Lydia Jamene Miller, singer/lead guitarist Vincent James 'Jim' DeMeo Jr., drummer Gregory Kimple, keyboardist Mario Russo, and bassist David Robert Robbins soldiered on as Year One.

Unable to attract the attention of a major label, in 1971 they released "Year One". Released on their own Year One Records label. Their debut was a double album, sixteen track studio set.

The album's rare, but not impossible to score.

Regardless, clocking in at over an hour, the sixteen original songs are quite diverse, including stabs at conventional rock ('As Much As I Know You'), jazz-rock fusion ('We Look Out At You'), progressive, and even pop moves.

the French guitarist Christian Boulé, was a member of Clearlight and also of the band of Steve Hillage and published 2 solo albums: "Photo Musik" and "Non-Fiction". Both sound a lot like solo work of Steve Hillage (with better keyboards though).The first is considered a little better than the second.

Mahogany Rush is a Canadian rock band led by guitarist Frank Marino. The band is perhaps best known for Marino's soaring lead guitar which bears a strong resemblance to the playing of Jimi Hendrix. The music of Mahogany Rush is diverse, ranging from genres such as blues rock, psychedelic rock, and funk rock (styles which are most prevalent on the group's early releases), to a more standard hard rock/heavy metal style in their later career. Marino himself has described the band's sound as "The Grateful Dead meets jazz".

Picanterii:

In an effort to gain press attention, the original record company created a fictional story that Frank Marino, prior to starting the band, had spent time in a mental institution after taking LSD and was visited by Jimi Hendrix in a vision. This gave him his inspiration to play as he did on the first album which very closely mirrored the style of Jimi Hendrix. By the time the third album, "Strange Universe" was recorded, this approach to filling the public desire to purchase newer Jimi Hendrix-styled music had been perfected.
